Our Story

Since our opening in 1997, we have been committed to providing the finest gymnastics training facility for boys and girls of all ages and abilities. Through gymnastics, we help them to develop positive attitudes and values.

Xiaoping Li and Jia Wen, the co-founders of South Coast Gymnastics, both have had a decade of competing gymnastics on an Olympic level for the Chinese National Team.

Xiaoping was the first World Champion for the Chinese Men's Gymnastics Team for Pommel Horse in 1981. In 1983, he won a gold medal in Men's Team, the first time that China had ever won a team gold medal.

Jia won a silver medal in Women's Team for China in 1981, a gold medal for Balance Beam at the World University Games in 1983, and a gold medal for Floor Exercise at the Asian Games in 1982.

Xiaoping and Jia have over 30 years of coaching experience. With their coaching staff, they have produced hundreds of National, Regional, and State Champions over the years. Our gymnasts have also been a part of the U.S. J.O. National Team. In addition, some of our gymnasts have gone on to compete in NCAA gymnastics at schools including Stanford, Berkeley, Brown University, UC Santa Barbara, UC Davis, West Point, United States Air Force Academy, Ohio State, University of Illinois, San Jose State, Utah State University, and Sacramento State.

Hard work has made it easy. That is my secret. That is why I win.

Our Mission

At South Coast, we believe in hard work. We want to help our students achieve their goals through quality training, which will develop their physical and mental strength.

We aim to provide a healthy, positive environment for your children to flourish not only as gymnasts but also as young people entering the world. By developing them as gymnasts, we are able to build up good attitudes and good habits that can help them to handle the pressures and difficulties in their future lives. We want our gymnasts to enjoy gymnastics by challenging them to the best of their abilities.
